Standoff Incident Ends Peacefully In FDL

Fond du Lac Police successfully talked
a 29-year-old man threatening to shoot himself out of a residence near the
corner of Doty and West Follet Streets this afternoon. Police Captain Aaron
Goldstein says they got a call just before 1 p.m. from the man. Police set up
command and a perimeter around a home in the 100 block of West Follett Street.
The Fire Department and paramedics stood by at the scene. Phone contact was made
with the man, who was still inside the home. Detectives and officers were able
to develop a rapport with the man and successfully talked him into leaving the
house without a weapon. Officers took the man into custody without incident at
2:02 p.m.
