Standoff Suspect Pleads To Charges


The 41-year-old Fond du Lac man who set fire to his foreclosed home and got into a standoff with police has pled no contest to charges stemming from the December 9th 2013 incidents.  Shannon Rogler was in Fond du Lac County Court for a plea hearing Wednesday afternoon. He pled no contest to two counts of 1st degree recklessly endangering safety with a dangerous weapon, burglary, arson and failing to comply with an officer charges. An attempted homicide charge was read into the record and dismissed. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bail was revoked. Rogler could get up to 60 years in prison for the crimes he pled to. On December 9th of 2013 he allegedly set fire to his foreclosed home at 65 North Hickory and later that morning got into a standoff with police while holed up in an apartment in the Elms Mobile Home Park. According to the criminal complaint he fired a number of shots into the air and ground and at one point had a police officer in his sights, but didn’t fire.
