State Awarded Nearly $12 Million to Battle Opioid Crisis

U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin announced Wednesday that an additional $11.9 million in federal grant funding was awarded to help Wisconsin combat the opioid epidemic. The funding will be distributed through the State Opioid Response Grants Program, which is administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The grants provide funding to state governments to support prevention, treatment and recovery efforts. The news comes after Senator Baldwin announced Tuesday that the state was awarded $5,195,302 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to address the opioid epidemic through enhanced prevention efforts.
