State Budget Hearing In Berlin Today

Area residents have an opportunity to voice their concerns about the state budget during a public hearing at Berlin High School today. The hearing will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the High School Auditorium. State Senate Assistant Minority Leader Janet Bewley (pictured) says even if you don’t sign up to speak you can learn a lot from the testimony you will hear. Fond du Lac Schools Superintendent Jim Sebert and Waupun Schools Superintendent Tonya Gubin are both expected to speak. Gubin says the proposed budget includes $200 more in per pupil funding, something that could really help their district balance its budget. Senator Bewley says if you can’t attend the hearing you can also send comments members of Joint Finance Committee or your State Senator or Representative.
