State Could Have $911 Million Budget Surplus

Wisconsin could be sitting on a $911 million budget surplus. A report from the Legislative Fiscal Bureau indicates state revenue projections for the biennium are much higher than previously anticipated…due largely to an almost $893 million increase in estimated tax collections. Governor Scott Walker says the numbers are a sign that Wisconsin’s economy continues to grow and add jobs, also indicating that he wants the additional revenue returned to taxpayers. Walker will deliver his annual State of the State Address next week, where he is expected to propose income and property tax cuts.
