State Patrol Using Aerial Patrols Along Highway 23

The State Patrol will be taking to the sky to enforce speed limits and other traffic laws in Fond du Lac County this weekend. Aerial enforcement patrols will survey Highway 23 on Friday. The effort aims to have people comply with traffic laws at all times – rather than to simply stop and cite drivers. Most aerial missions are made possible through federal funds designated for traffic law enforcement. The aircraft are equipped with timing devices to determine vehicle speeds – and will contact ground-based units to make a traffic stop if pilots detect speeders, aggressive, or reckless drivers.
