State Senate Candidate Wants To Shift Focus Back To The People

Democratic State Senate candidate John Lemberger says he is part of the “Blue Jeans” movement. He says it’s a reaction to the loss of state government concern over the interests of everyday people. He says they are trying to bring the focus back away from special interests to getting government to work for common people again. Lemberger says he’s concerned about public lands, the environment, transportation, and he would like to see the minimum wage raised. A UW-Oshkosh professor, he says the loss of funding for K-12 public schools from the state has shifted the burden to the property tax. He also says the loss of people going into the teaching profession is alarming. Lemberger will oppose Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris in the Democratic primary for the 18th State Senate seat next month.
