Statewide Storm Damage Estimates Growing

Damage estimates are growing across the state – after severe flooding and storms tore through Wisconsin over the past few weeks. Governor Scott Walker tweeted – saying storms since August 17th have caused nearly $209 million in damage, including $98 million in damage to homes. Dane County alone has seen about $155 million in damage. Emergency officials say those numbers are far from the final tally – and expect them to grow in the coming weeks. There are several programs available to help local governments and individuals with recovery – but are only triggered once a federal disaster declaration is granted.
