Statewide Tornado Drills Are Today
The
National Weather Service will be issuing two mock tornado warnings
statewide today as part of Wisconsin Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week.
Management Director Bobbi Hicken says a mock tornado watch will precede a mock
tornado warning this afternoon. The watch will be issued at 1 p.m. and the
warning at 1:45 p.m. Hicken says sirens will sound and weather radios will also
be activated, but your phone will not get the alert. A second mock tornado
warning will be issued at 6:45 p.m. In the event of real severe weather the
drills will be postponed until tomorrow.
