Students Housing Delayed For UW FDL

Fond du Lac County Executive Al Buechel says student housing at the UW-Fond du Lac campus won’t open until August of next year. He says the developer Keller Construction had an investor back out. He says Keller wasn’t able to move on in time for 2016 construction. He says they have lined up another developer. He says MDC out of Madison has built student housing in Madison and around the state. BMOC, a Madison-based company, would manage the housing. Originally they were looking at a 3-story 84 bed facility. Buechel says if they go with four stories more beds could be accommodated, but that will be up to the developer. He says the County set a base number of 76 beds, but the community could support up to 120 beds.
