Sturgeon Management Plan Being Updated

The state Department of Natural Resources will be holding eight public meetings across the state as it begins a process to update Wisconsin’s Sturgeon Management Plan.  The current plan was completed in 2000 and has guided much of the statewide management and recovery efforts for lake sturgeon in Wisconsin. Winnebago System Sturgeon Biologist Ryan Koenigs says many of the recommendations outlined in the current plan have been addressed and the plan is in need of updating.  The meeting for the Winnebago System area will be held in Conference rooms A and B of the Coughlin Building on County Road Y in Oshkosh on Wednesday, February 21st at 6:30 p.m.
