Sturgeon Spectacular Enjoyed By Many

Thousands enjoyed the activities surrounding the Third Annual Sturgeon Spectacular in Fond du Lac over the opening weekend of the sturgeon spearing season. Dusty Krikau of the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership says a lot of people commented on the ice sculpting and the snow sculpture competitions. She says, “They were out there with their chisels. I saw a lot of folks out with their kids, kind of checking them out and talking about how they were working. There were snow forms built on the Plaza so those were all being carved up by families and kids, so lots of fun stuff happening.” The snow sculpting will be left up on Sheboygan Street near Thelma Center for the Arts for people to see this week. The DFP Chili Crawl was a success with nine entries in the home cooking category and six in the restaurant category. Krikau says Ziggy’s Pub won the restaurant competition. She says, “Ziggy’s Pub takes the win for Best Restaurant Chili. So if you haven’t been down there they are actually in the process of installing a full kitchen.” Krikau praised the Fond du Lac Area Convention and Visitors Bureau for the great job they did organizing the Third Annual Sturgeon Spectacular.
