Successful Year For Garden Walk And Art Fair

Beautiful weather prevailed on July 12 as garden enthusiasts enjoyed the beauty of six local gardens, ultimately helping to raise money to support the Agnesian HealthCare Hospice Hope program.

Hospice Hope offers pain and symptom management and the supportive services of a professional and volunteer team to enhance the quality of life for patients and families, enabling them to live as fully as possible.

More than 500 people admired the handiwork and loving care given to showcased gardens during the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation 2015 Garden Walk & Art Fair. Thanks to community support and generous garden hosts, the garden walk had another successful year generating more than $7,300.

This year’s garden properties were located at N8416 Sunset Drive, St. Peter (Eric & Danielle Joslin); N5604 Boyke Drive, Fond du Lac (Dan & Darcy Zeleske); 22 Woodcrest Court, Fond du Lac (Gene & Pat Klapperich); 15 Willow Creek Court, Fond du Lac (Kevin & Loree Shady); 400 County Road K, Fond du Lac (Agnesian HealthCare Hospice Home of Hope); and 695 Grace Avenue, Fond du Lac (Joellyn Dahlin).

Stuart’s Landscaping & Garden Center was a major contributor.

“We are so grateful to the community for once again showing their support of our hospice program, as well as our wonderful garden hosts this year who opened up their beautiful and welcoming gardens to us,” says Rita Meidam, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation executive director. “We have an incredible planning committee and volunteers that help us continue to enhance our garden walk each and every year.”

The first garden walk was organized by the Agnesian HealthCare Volunteers in 1996 in celebration of St. Agnes Hospital’s centennial.

The 2015 garden walk was coordinated by committee members: Mona Eiring, Karen Gruenewaldt, Jennifer Hawley, Ramona Huempfner, Julie Moyer, Michelle Ries, Jean SmithDeb Doll and Mary Zimmerman.

Individuals that would like to nominate a local garden as a future garden walk participant can call the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation office at (920) 926-4959.
