Suspect In Hit And Run Death Back In Washington County Court Next Month

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for the 53-year-old West Bend man who allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian who was walking alongside a county highway last October. Brian George will be back in Washington County Court March 22nd for that hearing. George told investigators he had been attending a Halloween party at a local tavern on October 29th and was over-served by bartenders. George left the scene of the accident, but later returned. Thirty-seven-year-old Jason Scherr of West Bend was found lying in the roadway and died at the scene. A breath test put George’s blood alcohol level at more than twice the legal limit.
