Tainted Candy Handed Out In Randolph

Randolph Police are investigating concerns of tainted candy being handed out to trick-or-treaters in the village. Police say the candy was handed out during trick or treating in the village Saturday.  The “Now and Later” candies may have been dipped in motor oil. Officers located the residence where the candy was handed out and later received a call from a person saying that they had given out the candy. After questioning police determined that nothing was done to tamper with or contaminate the candy and they traced the candy to where it was purchased. Officers are following-up on their investigation with the vendor in an attempt to identify what, if any, foreign substance was placed on the candy.
