Tax Reform’s Impact on Charitable Donations

The executive director of the Fond
du Lac Area Foundation says one of the unintended
consequences of the federal tax reform legislation is the impact it will have
on charitable giving. Sandi Roehrig says eliminating the need for
itemizing tax deductions will have an impact on charitable giving that will add
up to billions of dollars. She recommends doing your charitable giving before
the end of the year to make the most of charitable deductions. She says the
Foundation can also help people establish spendable donor-advised funds to make
the most of their giving.
