Tax Roundtable Held In FDL

Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and Revenue Secretary Rick Chandler hosted a tax reform roundtable in Fond du Lac Thursday night. Kleefisch says the legislature is approving legislation that will return more than $500 million in income and property taxes to state residents bringing total tax relief during Governor’s Walker’s term to about $2 billion. But she says he wants to know they can continue to lower the tax burden. She says Wisconsin is 10th highest in income taxes and 12th highest in property taxes, but 35th in sales taxes. She says they’ve gotten a lot of suggestions at the tax roundtables to lower the income and property tax burden by upping the sales tax. She says for those who weren’t able to go to last night’s roundtable they can visit the state’s tax reform website for a presentation and to post comments. In the photo Lt.
