Theisen Students Donate To Healthy Yak Foundation

In June, Tara Majeska and Carina Zinda’s 7th grade Language Arts classes at Theisen Middle School completed their non-fiction unit on “People Who Make a Difference.” Students had the opportunity to listen to an area author, Dr. Lance Fox, who wrote No Place but UP.  Dr. Fox inspired the students with his story of determination and perseverance as he trained and climbed to the summit of Mount Everest. He also shared how he is making a difference for the people of Nepal through his Healthy Yak Foundation. Students paid it forward by raising $513.13 for the “Healthy Yak Foundation.” For information about Dr. Fox and his foundation you can go to www.foxeverest.com
