Third Body Found at Didion Milling Site

Three
people have now been confirmed dead in the explosion at the Didion Milling
Plant in Cambria. The explosion leveled the facility around 11 pm Wednesday.
Didion Vice President of Operations Derek Clark released the names of those
killed at a press conference Friday afternoon at the company’s offices in
Johnson Creek. Mill operator Duelle Block, forklift operator Robert Goodenow
and packing machine operator Pawel Tordoff were all killed in the blast. Block
was the first to be found just after midnight Thursday, Goodenow was found
Thursday evening and Tordoff was found Friday morning. The State Fire Marshalls
Office, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the US Chemical
Safety Board are gathering information and Didion has also launched its own
internal investigation into the explosion. Clark says the cause and the source
of the explosion remain unknown. A fire was reported at the plant Monday, but Clark
says the two incidents are not related.  A
fund has been established for the victims of the explosion through the National
Exchange Bank of Cambria, PO Box 338 care of the Old Mill Foundation Didion
Benefit Fund. Village officials say the money will go directly to assisting
those affected.
