Three Charged in Connection to FDL Overdose Death

Three people are being charged in connection to the overdose
death of a man in Fond du Lac
back in July. A medical examiner determined the cause of 23-year old Steve
Compton’s death to be a combination of heroin and fentanyl in his system.

Julie
Harr of Fond du Lac
– along with Cara Zech and Anthony Buechel of Waupun – are accused of providing
the heroin to Compton prior to his death.

Harr and Zech are not in
custody at this time, and the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office
asks anyone who knows of their whereabouts to contact law enforcement. Buechel
is already in custody on an unrelated matter.

All three are charged with First
Degree Reckless Homicide as Party to a Crime. Harr also faces two felony counts
of Felony Bail Jumping. The reckless homicide charge carries a sentence of up
to 40 years in prison.
