Three Children Hurt in I-41 Accident

Some of the names of those involved in
a roll-over crash on Highway 41 in the Town of Lomira have been released. Dodge
County Sheriff’s officials say 30-year-old Tory Agnew of Milwaukee was arrested
for operating while intoxicated after the crash that injured all five people in
the car including three young children. The children a 6-month-old, 1-year-old,
and three-year-old were all taken to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee with
serious injuries. The children’s names were not released. Agnew was taken to
Hartford Hospital with minor injuries. A passenger 21-year-old Marshay Williams
of Milwaukee was hurt, but declined medical attention. The accident happened
shortly before 5 p.m.

Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the man driving a car that rolled over on I-41 in the Town of Lomira was under the influence. Three young children were seriously injured ending up at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee; two of them were ejected from the car. Schmidt says the driver was under the influence, but not through alcohol use. He says there was something else on board not alcohol. Schmidt says there were three children’s car seats in the vehicle, but the two children that were ejected were improperly restrained. The children were 6 months, 1 year and 3-years-old. The driver and a female passenger suffered minor injuries in the mishap Sunday afternoon.

On 09-27-15 at 4:52 pm, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office
responded to a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 41, one mile north of STH 28
in the Township of Lomira, Dodge
County
, Wisconsin

Preliminary investigation shows that a 1998 Ford Contour was
traveling northbound on Interstate 41. 
The Ford entered the west side gravel shoulder.  The vehicle then traveled a crossed both
lanes where it struck an embankment causing the vehicle to roll.  The vehicle came to rest on its wheels.

During the roll, two children were ejected from the
vehicle.  The driver, passenger and third
child remained in the vehicle. 

A 6 month old was transported by Flight for Life to
Children’s hospital with severe injuries. 
A 3 year old was also transported by Flight of Life to Children’s hospital
with life threatening injuries.  A 1 year
old was transported by Fond du Lac
paramedics to Children’s hospital. 

The male driver and female passenger received minor injuries.

Assisting at the scene were Theresa Fire Department, Theresa
EMS, Horicon EMS, Mayville EMS, Fond du Lac Paramedics, Lomira Police Department, Slinger Police Department, Washington
County Sheriff’s Office, and Flight for Life.

At this time names are being withheld.
