Three FDL Schools Being Honored At State Capitol Today

Fond du Lac Schools Superintendent Jim Sebert says he is very pleased that three District schools have been named Title 1 Schools of Recognition.  He says Chegwin Elementary has been a winner in the program since 2005. He says in addition to Chegwin, Sabish Middle School was recognized in the Beating the Odds category, which puts them among the top 25 percent of high poverty schools in the state with above-average achievement in reading and math. Waters Elementary is also being recognized. He says they were recognized as a High Progress School, which means they fall within the top 10 percent of schools experiencing growth in student reading and math performance. All 178 schools from across the state named as Schools of Recognition will be honored during a ceremony at the State Capitol today. Oakfield Elementary School is among them as well.
