Tourism Grant Helps FDL Marketing Efforts

The Fond du Lac Convention and Visitors Bureau is getting a nearly $40,000 state grant to market tourism efforts in Fond du Lac. The $39,550 Joint Effort Marketing grant was announced by the State Tourism Department. Fond du Lac Convention and Visitors Bureau President Craig Molitor says, “Tourism is economic development, and as such, anything we can do to increase visitor traffic to the Fond du Lac region is a real positive gesture.” Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett says, “With 99 miles of shoreline, fantastic dining and a wide variety of activities available, the Fond du Lac and Lake Winnebago area has so much to offer travelers.” Total business sales in Fond du Lac County topped $205 million in 2013, supporting nearly 2,500 jobs and $15 million in state and local taxes.
