Treffert Center Patients Will Benefit From AHC Love Lights Sale

Proceeds from this year’s Love Lights, presented by the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation, will help support the Treffert Center and the idea that acceptance for all is deserved, not just during the holidays, but year-round.

The Treffert Center, which includes Agnesian Beyond Boundaries of Autism (ABBA), the Treffert Academy, the Treffert Library/Savant Center and Treffert Clinic, is working to bring knowledge on neuro-diversity (autistic spectrum disorders) and what it means for our community.

Darold Treffert, MD, and Matt Doll, PhD, Behavioral Health Services/Autism director, are serving as the 2017 Love Light co-chairpersons.

“Many individuals feel a great sense of loss during the holiday season; this is directly attributed to feeling different from others, and at the Treffert Center we recognize that,” according to Dr. Treffert. “My continuous hope and wish for the Treffert Center is that we can provide happiness, hope, support and guidance not only to our children but to our community as well.”

The knowledgeable and talented team at the Treffert Center works to help families and our community understand these differences. The key to acceptance is understanding.

The Treffert Center was founded in 2016 and is the only savant institute in the world. They have served more than 1,000 people and their families and their services currently span 20 counties in Wisconsin…and are still growing!

Love Light proceeds will benefit current and future programs and equipment needed by the Treffert Center to continue expanding their level of care.

Individuals can support Love Lights by purchasing a light in honor of someone they wish to remember or celebrate during the holiday season. This light will shine on the beautifully lit evergreen in front of Agnesian HealthCare.

The names of those honored and remembered will be displayed through the holiday season in the St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac Regional Clinic and Waupun Memorial Hospital lobby areas.

Love Lights can be purchased for $10 each at both the hospital and clinic information desks, 430 E. Division Street, at Waupun Memorial Hospital, 620 W. Brown Street, or by calling the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation at (920) 926-4959.

In addition, the Foundation also offers Angel Lights ($150 and above) for interested individuals. All donations of $150 and above will have a special designation on the ceremony program.

The public is invited to the 2017 Love Light Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 11 in the St. Agnes Hospital lobby.
