Tributes Pouring In For Fallen Trooper

Tributes are pouring in for the State Trooper who died in an exchange of gunfire with a bank robbery suspect in Fond du Lac Tuesday night. Trevor Casper died after shooting and killing the suspect. Tributes are filling up social networking sites, but Wisconsin politicians are also commenting on the trooper’s sacrifice.

Governor Scott Walker:

“Trooper Trevor Casper was killed while bravely serving his community and doing his duty to keep our citizens safe. Tonette and I are praying for Trooper Casper’s family and our thoughts are with them and the broader law enforcement community at this difficult time.”

Congressman Glenn Grothman of Campbellsport:

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Wisconsin State Trooper Trevor Casper, as they mourn the loss of his life, which was tragically lost in the line of duty Tuesday night. Trooper Casper put his life on the line every day, and he worked tirelessly to protect the people of Wisconsin. Wisconsin grieves this loss and thanks Trooper Casper for his sacrifice.”

State Senator Rick Gudex of Fond du Lac:

“My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Wisconsin State Trooper Trevor Casper and the entire Law Enforcement and Public Safety community. These brave men and women put their lives on the line day and night to protect us, and we cannot forget their sacrifice. I also want to thank all of the Law Enforcement agencies and first responders that assisted last evening in Fond du Lac. As the Fond du Lac and Kiel communities grieve, please remember to keep our entire Law Enforcement community in your thoughts as they handle this difficult situation.”

U.S. Senator Ron Johnson issued a statement on the tragic shooting death of State Trooper Trevor Casper:

“My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends and fellow officers of Trooper Trevor Casper. We are all reminded of how grateful we should be for the courage of the men and women who protect us.”

State Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt  of Fond du Lac says:

“I’m deeply saddened to learn of the tragic shooting death of State Trooper Trevor Casper.  His sacrifice will never be forgotten in his duties to protect and serve our citizens and State.  My family’s prayers are with his family and friends in this difficult time.  I hope that everyone will take some time to reflect on the service all law enforcement officers provide for us and the very real dangers they face each time they put on the uniform.”
