Truck Driver Arrested For Driving Drunk Across Two Counties

Washington County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 37-year-old Village of Slinger man for driving drunk Tuesday evening. He was driving a semi-tractor tanker, loaded with 54,000 pounds of cement. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office reported a red semi-tractor tanker nearly hit several vehicles head-on while heading east on State Highway 33 Tuesday evening. A patient being transported in a Horicon ambulance was injured when the ambulance driver had to take evasive action to avoid a collision with the truck. Two Washington County Deputies arrested the driver after he went into the ditch on I-41 south of County Highway K in the Town of Polk. The driver could not recall where he was coming from. He failed roadside sobriety testing and was arrested for his first drunken driving offense.
