Tuition Cut

State Senator Jennifer Shilling says the Governor’s proposal in the state budget to cut UW-System student tuition by $35 million could be used better. She says no one is certain how that will work or affect other portions of the state’s next two-year budget. She feels it might be better to use that money to help students with financial aid. She says Democrats in the state legislature would also like to have a conversation about allowing students to refinance their college debt.
