Two Arrested after Motorcycle Crash in Washington Co.

Two men from Campbellsport were arrested for drunk driving
this weekend after a motorcycle crash in Washington County.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the
scene on County Highway D in the Town of Wayne just before 6 pm Sunday. A news
release says a 31-year-old man crashed his motorcycle on the road for an
unknown reason, and was arrested for his first offense drunk driving – second violation.
The release explains this happens when a driver already has a pending charge of
first offense drunk driving, and gets arrested a second time before being
convicted of the first offense.

His riding partner, a 42-year-old man, was arrested for his
third drunk driving offense after deputies spoke to him on scene about the
first crash. The man reportedly told deputies that his motorcycle “magically
appeared” on the side of the road and that he did not drive it there. The
release says the man then provided keys that were in his front pocket to
another friend who he had asked to remove the motorcycle from the scene.
