Two Dead In Calumet County Incident

Calumet County Sheriff’s officials have released the names of two people killed in an apparent murder-suicide in the Village of Harrison Tuesday evening. Thirty-eight-year-old Sara Schmidt was found dead in a vehicle at a home on Sweet Clover Drive. She suffered at least one gunshot wound. Forty-nine-year-old Robert Schmidt was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound near the residence. Authorities say the Schmidts had been involved in an altercation. Autopsies are being performed at the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s office.

Calumet County authorities say two people died during what is being called a “domestic situation” in the Town of Harrison Tuesday night. Officers were sent to a home on Sweet Clover Drive, which is outside of Darboy Park in Darboy. Sheriff’s officials say they found a 38-year-old woman dead in a vehicle at the home.  A SWAT team was dispatched and a 49-year-old man was found near the residence. Officers and neighbors had heard gunshots. Sheriff’s officials say the incident was domestic in nature and the public isn’t in danger.
