Two Hurt In Accident East Of FDL

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say the two people injured in a two-vehicle accident on State Highway 23 near Hilltop Drive this morning were a 40-year-old Oakfield man and 28-year-old West Salem woman. The accident in the Town of Empire happened when Shawn Schneider of Oakfield who was heading east crossed over the centerline and hit a westbound vehicle driven by Meriam Schlieve of West Salem. Both were the lone occupants in their vehicles and both needed to be extricated by the Fond du Lac Fire Department. They were taken to St. Agnes Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Also assisting at the scene were Fond du Lac Police and EMS, and Eden Fire Responders. The accident happened at 6:40 a.m.

Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 23 east of Fond du Lac this morning. Fond du Lac Division Chief of Fire Prevention Troy Haase says one vehicle crossed over the center line and sideswiped another vehicle. Both drivers had to be extricated and were taken to St. Agnes Hospital. Flight for Life was called, but did not transport anyone. The accident happened just east of Whispering Springs. It was reported around 6:45 this morning. Both lanes were closed down and traffic was detoured. Eden Fire Department responded as well. Fond du Lac Fire Department photo.
