Two Hurt In Separate Snowmobile Accidents In FDL County

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s office has released the names of those involved in a snowmobile accident in the Town of Ashford early Sunday morning. Twenty-one-year-old Samantha Kraus of Allenton was hurt when she was ejected from her machine in the area of County Highway W and St. Killian Drive. Thirty-eight-year-old Torre Zweifel of Campbellsport was trailing her and was unable to avoid her and struck her as she was laying on the trail. She was taken to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with non-life threatening injuries.

Two people were hurt in separate snowmobile accidents in Fond du Lac County early Sunday morning. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say 53-year-old Bradford Doemel of Ripon was ejected from his snowmobile when he approached State Highway 44-49 south of County Highway KK in the Town of Metomen. He ended up in a ditch. He was taken to Ripon Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash. The accident was reported at 12:27 a.m. 

A second snowmobile accident was reported just before 2 a.m. in the Town of Ashford. A woman was thrown from her machine on a snowmobile trail in the area of County Highway W and St. Killian Drive. A man in the group who was following her did not see her get ejected and was unable to avoid striking her on the trail. She was taken to St. Agnes Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in that accident as well.
