Two New Big Brothers Big Sisters Board Members

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County announces the addition of two new board members: Alan Hathaway of BrownBoots Interactive and Steve Leaman of Horicon Bank.

Originally from Oshkosh, Alan (pictured above) started a website development company, BrownBoots Interactive, in 1999. Graduating from UW-Oshkosh with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, Alan is a techy at heart.  Passionate about web design and search engine optimization (SEO), he wears many different hats at BrownBoots and excels at explaining technical concepts to non-techies.

When it comes to community involvement, Alan leads by example. He has previously served as Chairman of the Board for the FDL Area Association of Commerce, is a past Board Member for the FDL Family YMCA and the Center for Enterprise Development and is a founding Board Member of the Young Professionals of FDL.  Alan currently serves on the Board for the DFP, is co-chair of Lemonade Day and is a coach and mentor for the South Eden Robotics Club.

Alan’s involvement on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County brings him full circle. As a youth, he was involved in the program as a little brother and then volunteered as a big brother in the mid ’90s. He acknowledges that the relationships BBBS’ fosters last a lifetime.  Alan and his wife Sara live in Eden with their two sons.

Steve Leaman (pictured below) is the Assistant Vice President of Business Banking for Horicon Bank serving FDL and the surrounding communities.  He has been in banking over 16 years and resides in FDL with his wife and three children.

Steve is very community focused, being involved in a variety of organizations including: the FDL Area Association of Commerce, FDL Noon Rotary, FDL High School Soccer Booster Club, FDL Soccer Association, FDL Visioning and Strategic Plan, Habitat for Humanity of FDL County, Imagination Network of Wisconsin, Junior Achievement, SCORE, United Way, Wisconsin Alumni Association, Young Professionals of FDL and Youth Leadership FDL.

Steve has been recognized for his contributions to the community by winning awards such as the Badger of the Year, Donald G. Jones Leadership Award and the Carl W. Tonjes Volunteer Award.  In his free time, Steve enjoys spending time with family, sports (especially when his kids are playing) and traveling.
