Union Will Resume Contract Extension Talks With Oshkosh Corp

The union for Oshkosh Corporation voted Tuesday to resume talks on a possible 5-year extension on their contract with the company. The current contract doesn’t expire for three years, but the company asked for the extension in its efforts to win a $13 billion contract from the Army and Marine Corps to build the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle. That’s a military vehicle that will replace the Humvee. The company has threatened to build it elsewhere if it wins the contract, but doesn’t get a contract extension with the union. The union held its vote at the Oshkosh Convention Center. There are about 2,500 union members who were eligible to vote.
