Update Fire Damages Outside Of Home On South Military Rd

Fond du Lac firefighters responded to a fire in a two-story home at 124 South Military Road Sunday afternoon. The fire was on the outside of the wood-frame residence. It was quickly extinguished before it could spread to the interior of the home. It was caused unintentionally by careless use of smoking materials. Occupants of the residence were able to safely get out of the home. There were no working smoke detectors in the residence. Police assisted the fire investigation and also with traffic and scene control.  Alliant was called to the scene to secure the utilities.
