UW FDL Dean Could Head Another School

UW-Fond du Lac Dean John Short says he has a number of possibilities after restructuring in the UW-System eliminated his positions and others. Short says he’s a finalist for president, dean or senior vice presidents positions at schools in Maine, Ohio and West Virginia. Campuses of the University of Maine, Kent State and the University of West Virginia are interested in him. He says he could still accept a faculty position in the UW-System. Short says he’s enjoyed his six years as Dean at the UW-Fond du Lac and the community in general. Short says he liked serving as chairman of the Lakeside Park Exploratory Committee and is pleased to see the Fond du Lac City Council backing some of the recommendations they made. He also has job possibilities in the Fond du Lac area and could take a faculty position at a UW school thought it might not be here. The UW-System restructured its leadership at two-year schools following state budget cuts.
