UW FDL Professors Join UW System Fellows And Scholars Program

25-Feb-2018

FOND DU LAC, Wis.  – Two University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac professors have been named to the Wisconsin Teaching Fellows and Scholars program for 2018-19.

Dr. Carey Woodward (pictured above), physics and astronomy professor, is a teaching scholar and Dr. Kayoung Kim (pictured below), psychology professor, is a teaching fellow, in this yearlong program bringing together a diverse mix of faculty and instructional academic staff from across all institutions in the University of Wisconsin System.

Fellows and scholars selected for the program must provide evidence of excellent teaching, knowledge and interest in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and a record of campus leadership on issues of teaching and learning. Fellows are outstanding early career untenured faculty. Scholars are outstanding tenured faculty.

As participants in this program, Woodward and Kim will undertake a significant SoTL project supporting student success, record the project’s progress on an electronic poster and share results in public forums.

“Professional and instructional development are critical to supporting student success,” said Dr. Martin Rudd, UW Colleges regional executive officer and dean. “Both Dr. Woodward and Dr. Kim are recognized leaders in teaching excellence and innovation in the classroom. Their participation in this program will ensure continued distinction in teaching and learning experiences for our students.”
