UW-FDL Students Collecting To Purchase Bottle Refilling Station

A business class at the UW-Fond du Lac is trying to raise enough money for a bottle station at the campus that will allow students to refill water bottles. Mike Winkler teaches Business 101. He says the students wanted to do an environmentally friendly project that would make an impact. They’ve raised just over $170, but need $950 to pay for Eco-water effort. He says other college campuses have them. Student Jim Lorrigan says millions of tons of bottles of water are purchased and disposed of each year, with most of them ending up in our oceans. It’s estimate that the bottle station would allow students at the UW-Fond du Lac to save about 19,600 bottles a year. To donate to the effort go to the Indiegogo website and search for Fund-du-Lac. The effort ends on May 5th.  Pictured Jim Lorrigan and Mike Winkler at the KFIZ studios.
