Veterans Need Location Downtown To Collaborate And Meet

An official with the Marine Corps League spoke to the Fond du Lac City Council this week about finding a place for veterans’ downtown. Kim Galske told the Council while they are considering recommendations for improving the downtown they should consider the many veterans living in the community. She says they need a place to meet and come together, a place for counseling and group meetings. She says there are a number of veterans groups in the community, but they need a centralized location where all the groups could meet and collaborate together. She says she’s met with Salute the Troops, AMVETS, the VFW and others about the problem. She says she reached out to a lot of people in the community, but felt it was time to approach the City Council and ask for help.
