Walker Appoints Schimel to Serve as Judge

Outgoing Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel will not be
out of a job for long. Governor Scott Walker appointed Schimel to serve as a
judge on the Waukesha County Circuit Court. Schimel lost to Democrat Josh Kaul
in the November 6th midterm election by just 17,000 votes.

The
Democratic Party of Wisconsin is critical of the appointment, claiming Schimel
would not be an independent voice on the bench. Walker has not yet announced his future
plans. He will also step down in January after losing to Tony Evers in the
midterm election.
