Washington County Low Speed Chase

A 51-year-old Milwaukee man is facing multiple charges after two low speed chases with Washington County authorities early Sunday morning. It started out as a report about an erratic driver who failed to stop until spike sticks deflated the tires on his vehicle. Sheriff’s deputies learned the man was a convicted felon with a criminal history that included weapons violations. He managed to drive out of a ditch and led officers on a second chase. His SUV ended up in another ditch and he taunted officers by saying, “This will end in death.” A SWAT team helped take the man into custody and they found a handgun on the floor of the vehicle with spent shell casings throughout the vehicle. Milwaukee Police checked on the welfare of his wife who had filed a restraining order. Empty shell casings were found in her driveway, but she was found safe a few hours later.
