Waters Elementary Teacher Receives Kohl Fellowship

A $3000 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation 2015 Fellowship was presented to Kathleen Parish, teacher at Waters Elementary School in Fond du Lac, at a recognition luncheon hosted by U.S. Senator Herb Kohl (retired).

The Herb Kohl Fellowship recognizes teachers who have demonstrated superior ability to inspire love of learning in their students, have motivated others, and have provided meritorious service both inside and outside the classroom.

The Herb Kohl Fellowship Foundation has been recognizing educational excellence annually since 1990 with $1000 fellowship grants to 100 Wisconsin teachers and matching $1000 grants to each fellow’s school. In celebration of the foundation’s 25th anniversary, Herb Kohl has tripled the fellowship grant and the matching grant to each fellow’s school to $3000.

Since it was established in 1990, the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation has awarded $9 million to Wisconsin students, teachers, and schools.
