Waupun Attorney Running For FDL County Board

A second candidate has filed his papers for the District 7 seat on the Fond du Lac County Board. Sam Kaufman is an attorney in Waupun. He’s been there since 1999. He says in talking with residents there is a feeling that they have no voice. He feels he can provide that voice on the County Board. He says he talked with his wife about it and decided he wanted to contribute to the community and he will let people know he feels on issues. Kaufman also works as a municipal prosecutor for the City of Waupun and Villages of North Fond du Lac and Rosendale. He says he’s seen the problems juveniles have and feels if more opportunities are created for youth that will cut down on alcohol and drug use. He says residents in District 7 are concerned about a variety of issues including the controversy over the possible placement of a violent sex offender in the Town of Eldorado. Residents are worried sex offenders may be placed in District 7 as well. Kaufman is being endorsed by a number of local politicians including former Waupun Mayor Jodi Steger and District Attorney Eric Toney. He and his wife Lisa have three children, Ashley, Alex and Ryan.
