Waupun Man Charged For FDL County Chase

The 41-year-old Waupun man involved in a vehicle and foot chase with Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies and Fond du Lac Police officers last Friday night has been charged. Bond was set at $10,000 cash when David Skattum made his initial court appearance yesterday. The incident started out as a tip about an intoxicated driver who was heading to Sheboygan to buy some cocaine. It ended after Skattum drove into Fond du Lac and fled on foot into a tree line. Fond du Lac K-9 Paco found and bit him. Paramedics treated Skattum. He was then arrested. During the 3 mile vehicle chase Skattum reportedly reached speeds of up to 103 miles per hour. He’s facing cocaine and narcotics possession, fleeing and resisting charges, and his 6th drunken driving charge. He’s also facing a couple of traffic charges and a battery charge. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next Thursday.
