Waupun Man Injured in Crash

A 56-year-old man from Waupun was injured in a two-vehicle
crash in the Town of Alto Wednesday afternoon. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s
Deputies responded to the scene at Highway 49 and Amity Road at 3:43 pm. Authorities
say Robert Greenfield was driving north on Highway 49 and slowing down to turn
into a driveway when his truck was hit from behind by another pickup. Greenfield’s
truck overturned into the ditch on the driver’s side. He had to be removed from
the truck and was flown by Flight for Life to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center
in Neenah with serious injuries. Greenfield was wearing a seatbelt at the time
of the crash. The driver of the second truck, 29-year-old Kyle Zimdars of
Brandon was cited for inattentive driving and following too closely. Highway 49
between County Highway AS and Amity Road was closed for one hour because of the
crash. Fire departments from Alto and Brandon/Fairwater and Lifestar Ambulance
assisted at the scene
