Waupun Man Waives Preliminary Hearing In Death Of Grandmother

The incident back in August of 2019 left his grandmother unconscious, and she later died at the hospital. The 30-year-old Waupun man, Gregory Spittel, was charged in the death of 75-year old Carol Foreman, and waived his preliminary hearing Friday. 


Spittel faces a slew of charges, including felony charges of first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree reckless injury, along with intimidating witnesses and battery or threat to a judge, prosecutor or law enforcement officer. 


Spittell could face mandatory life in prison if found guilty of first-degree intentional homicide. He is held in the Fond du Lac Jail on a $1 million cash bond.
