Waupun Mock Distracted Driving Crash

Waupun students see the dangers and potential consequences of distracted driving during a mock crash situation Thursday. Waupun emergency responders – including the police department, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Lifestar Ambulance, and Flight for Life – construct a realistic look at what could happen in those instances. Students are also learning how investigators determine the mechanics and factors of a crash. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported nearly 3,500 people were killed in crashes involving distracted drivers in 2016 – which accounted for 9.2% of total fatalities that year.
