Waupun Referendum Improvements Under Budget

The Superintendent of Waupun School District says they are about $800,000 under budget on the $36 million in facility improvements voters approved last November. Tonya Gubin says some of those saving have been realized by doing deferred maintenance projects themselves. She credits their Director of Building and Grounds Mike Bos for overseeing those efforts.  She says with some of those savings they may be able to do the remodeling for the large group instruction room at the high school that they didn’t include in last fall’s referendum. She says one of their first projects, the athletic complex, is behind schedule because of the weather. But she says that project is also about $260,000 under budget. She says it will be nice to have their own track and they are already scheduling meets for next spring.
