Waupun Schools Close To Breaking Ground On First Improvement Project

Waupun Schools Superintendent Tonya Gubin says they are less than a month away from breaking ground for their first improvements resulting from the passage of a $36 million referendum last fall. She says they have been meeting couple of weeks since last November’s referendum.  She says they have been working on the schematic design phase. She says they have been conferring with teachers from the different buildings and have been meeting with the architects and construction managers. She says bids for the construction of the track and tennis court at the athletic complex are actually due back tomorrow. She says they will break ground for the track and tennis courts on Wednesday, May 3rd. She says kids will be marching from their old track at Rock River Intermediate School to the new track site as part of the festivities that day. She says they hope to start using the track this fall for some of their physical education classes.
