Weather Spotter Training Benefits National Weather Service Reporting

Fond du Lac County Emergency Management sponsored a severe weather safety and spotter training session Thursday night. The first hour focused on severe weather safety and the second hour on tornado spotter training. The training was conducted by the National Weather Service. County Communications and Emergency Management Director Bobby Hicken says once you get that training you are considered a spotter. She says spotters primarily report to the National Weather Service and that data helps with the issuing of watches and warnings.
