Week Of Caring Kicks Off United Way Campaign

The Fond du Lac Area United Way launched its fall fundraising campaign this month with its Week of Caring. Many agencies that benefit from United Way funding benefitted from volunteer help during the week. For instance a group worked in a garden at Free Spirit Riders, volunteers also helped at the Boys & Girls Club, and others did painting work for Big Brothers Big Sisters. United Way Executive Director Amber Kilawee says non-profits benefitting from volunteer help during the week weren’t just United Way funded agencies. A total of 150 volunteers participated helping kick things off, which captured the spirit of the campaign. This fall the United Way hopes to raise $770,000 during its fundraising campaign.
